PEC-G PROGRAM CELEBRATES ITS 60TH ANNIVERSARY

en 13 de Mai de 2025

The Undergraduate Students Program by Agreement (Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação - PEC-G) is one of the oldest and most important foreign policy instruments and support for the internationalization of Brazilian higher education institutions.

The program aims to offer higher education opportunities to international students, promoting international cooperation and cultural exchange.

Created in 1965, the program offers free places for students from other countries to do their complete undergraduate studies in Brazil. Applications are free and are made at Brazilian embassies and consulates abroad.

Thousands of international students, especially from the Global South, have benefited from this program and the programs that have developed from it (PEC-PG, for postgraduate studies and PEC-PLE, Portuguese as a foreign language), contributing to the training of qualified professionals and strengthening Brazil's international relations.

In recent years, UEFS has been able to welcome several students, especially from Africa and Asia, through this program that began six decades ago, making our campus internationally diverse and contributing to the expansion of our multiculturalism.

We congratulate the PEC-G Program and all those who contribute to maintaining this important way of development and social transformation through Education!
